Sirius Gratitude

In the deep well

under the gravity of all that tumbles and floats

a helix spirals blindly

in the drawdown

through the cone of depression

She dwells at the bottom

drowning in the swirling centrifuge of debris

submerged in anechoic retreat

senseless

A liminal figure

she drifts toward bardo

hovering

Darkness takes an unexpected breath

daring her to open her eyes

There, under a sudden shaft of light

she rummages and catalogues

the grace of a life

And from the depths

against the downward current

under one flooding beam

Sirius

lights her way
