COMING UP - June 17, 2023 Our film Murmurs has been selected by the American Dance Festival’s Movies By Movers Film Festival 2023.

Doug Varone, choreographer.

Murmurs is a collaboration among dancer Linda Belans and filmmakers Raquel Salvatella de Prada and Shirin Maleki. Score by Jim Lee

Murmurs originally created for whose eyes i have (an interdisciplinary family installation)

Leah Sobsey         Linda Belans         Adam Sobsey

February 14 - March 4, 2023 Greensboro Project Space

For whose eyes I have, the three family members draw on archival and personal histories of their maternal and paternal roots in Ukraine, Romania, and the United States. Through their respective disciplines and family traditions of photography, video, dance, music, theater, poetry, and narrative storytelling, they create an immersive installation that explores migration and travel, heritage and identity, and the power and the weight of what is passed down to us by our forebears."

Murmurs was made possible, in part, by a 2022-23 Durham Arts Council Emerging Artists Grant.
